Dr. Prajwal is awarded the UZH Entrepreneur-Fellowship

Nat Prajwal

Dr. rer. nat. Prajwal, a postdoctoral scientist from the Institute of Laboratory Animal Science, is awarded the UZH Entrepreneur-Fellowships in BioTech & MedTech. The award will enable establishing a startup named Clemedi to develop novel NGS based in vitro diagnostics (IVD) to analyze resistance to antibiotics in human infections. The fellowship will aid in the development of their first IVD test for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), straight from the patient sample, generating resistance information within 24 hours on 24 antibiotics used to treat TB. The project aims to improve patient care and address the rise in antibiotic resistance by making a fast and comprehensive genetic drug testing available to the clinicians. Congratulations!
