We are aware that these are difficult times for everyone and we wish you all the very best and hope you, your family and friends remain healthy.
The ICEL Board has closely monitored events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the current situation and with respect to advices issued by the various health authorities and governments, we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel our meeting this September in Zurich (Sept. 3rd to 5th 2020). However, the good news is that we have succeeded in re-scheduling the ICEL9 for 2021. We look forward to welcoming you to Zurich on September 16th to 18th 2021. Our full energy will now be diverted to the delivery of an outstanding conference next year.
The call for abstracts ending in March promised an interesting scientific programme. A total of 129 abstracts were submitted on exciting and varied topics. This and the presence of many new authors show the significance of this field and its rapid growth. With the valuable help of numerous experts, the scientific board plans to complete the reviewing process within the next few weeks and will then decide on pre-acceptance of some of the contributions to be included in the scientific programme 2021. Additionally, a second call for abstracts will be sent out at the end of this year.
Please stay updated and register ( – if you have not yet done so – for further information concerning ICEL9.
Take care and best regards
