An individualized digital portfolio enables students to collect structured feedback on their clinical activities and document their learning progress. It is also used to evaluate clinical rotations.
The so-called "workplace-based assessments" (WBA) are the centerpiece of the portfolio. These are based on the "Entrustable Professional Activities", which are described in the VETPROFILES learning objectives catalogue.
The WBAs include, for example, a Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini-CEX) or the Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS). Both are feedback instruments for everyday clinical practice. They make it easier to set learning objectives following a direct observation.
