Submitting a Habilitation Application

You can submit your habilitation documents in person or electronically at the Dean's Office of the Vetsuisse Faculty University of Zurich (call 044 635 81 21 or write an email: dekanat@vetadm.uzh.ch in advance to make an appointment). The provisions of the Habilitation Regulations of the Vetsuisse Faculty are binding. Habilitations with formal shortcomings and incomplete dossiers will be returned and must be resubmitted.

Document Checklist

The following must be submitted in electronic form together with the habilitation application:

  1. Curriculum vitae incl. list of publications
  2. Habilitation thesis
  3. The five most important publications that are not part of the habilitation thesis
  4. Proof of qualifications (teaching evaluations) and academic achievement
  5. Three suggested subjects for the public trail lecture

Together with the habilitation application, the habilitation candidate is free to submit a list of no more than five (5) possible external reviewers for the habilitation thesis, which will not be binding for the committee for business promotion (VS-K BG). If this option is utilized, any relationships with the proposed reviewers must be disclosed.

 

The printed deposit copies of the habilitation thesis for the libraries do not have to be submitted to the Dean's Office until the end of the procedure. Please note the binding regulations for this. The specifications can be found under Downloads.

Habilitation candidates should study further in areas where they view themselves as being weak or which they are particularly interested in.
